If you are still and calm you can get magnificent photographs of all the flora and fauna that this area has to offer.
You can find authentic adobe pueblo homes near Old Caves, Pueblo. There is also an excellent opportunity to get a great photo of the black swallowtail butterfly. It’s worth the trek to catch a glimpse of one of these beauties. Photographs of the Barringer Meteor Crater are always interesting. It seems that no two are alike. Perhaps no two photographers see the site in exactly the same way.
Monument Valley has some of the most photographed faces in the world. There will also be plenty to photograph at sunset as the light plays throughout the valley. The tones and contrast are striking. Just east of Flagstaff is the famous Petrified Forest. Ancient trees, fossils and natural formations will be an interesting subject for any photographer.
The Hubbell Trading Post is a good place to take a break and also take pictures of one of the historic relics still used for its original purposes. You can also get some great photos on Navajo land. There are tourist attractions that recreate the life of the Navajo of yesteryear. Antelope Canyon is such a place. It is a beautiful almost surreal place and it is located on Navajo land. Be careful traveling this way, leave it as you found it for the next group of photographers.
