Electric Bicycles – The Transportation of the Future

Electric bicycles are the transport of the future. We need only look around us to see that our roads are becoming increasingly congested with gas-guzzling cars, while the air we breathe becomes more polluted by the day. Here are some good reasons to consider an alternate mode of transportation; namely, the electric bicycle or E-Bike.

The health benefits of cycling instead of riding they are obvious, but while many of us buy bikes with good intentions, many of them end up sitting in the garage collecting dust, waiting for the perfect day to go for a ride. We tend to think of them as purely recreational vehicles, while our cars are for commuting, shopping, etc. What if you could bike to work or shop with a little help from a quiet electric motor? Would a less daunting or exhausting ride tempt you to jump on your bike for some fresh air and exercise? Enter the electric bike.

Electric bikes are extremely cheap to ride. Most E-Bikes can be ridden with pedal only, with a combination of pedal with electrical assistance, or with electric power only, so you can choose the amount of effort you put in. Obviously, the more effort you put in, the less the motor has to do, so the battery lasts much longer between charges. When it’s time to charge the battery, a good bike would cost about five cents to charge. Compare that to filling up your car or taking public transportation!

congestion and parking. Many of the trips we take are not very far from home, just a little too far to walk. If you could hop on an electric bike and get there quickly, quietly, and without exhausting yourself on those daunting hills, you’d often find that the ride doesn’t take much longer, if at all, than if you’d gone in the car. , joined the queues, searched for a park, etc., etc. Most people have experienced the frustration of joining the ever-increasing mass of cars on our roads every day. We spend too much time sitting in traffic queues, frustrated and angry as we struggle to get to work or to the stores. Personally, it takes me 15-20 minutes to drive to work every day and longer to drive home due to the 5 o’clock rush hour. On my E-Bike it takes 25 minutes each way, regardless of traffic. It’s a no-brainer.

Electric bikes are environmentally friendly. We’ve all heard the reports of the pollution choking our world, and we’re constantly reminded of the contribution our gasoline and diesel vehicles are making to this soup. Consider how much your car or bus contributes to air pollution and noise, then compare that to the effects of a quiet and efficient electric bike. Sure, the production of electricity contributes to the pollution of our planet, but to a much lesser extent than our insatiable appetite for increasingly scarce oil, and these days with more and more countries looking for alternative energy sources such as solar, etc. ., it is quite conceivable that your E-Bike will eventually leave virtually zero carbon footprint. You have to feel good about it.
