How not to raise spoiled children

As parents, I don’t think any of us set out to raise a child who is disrespectful, spoiled, or spoiled. We’ve all seen those kinds of kids and we swear our kids will never act like that. Then, horror of horrors, your child launches his first attack in public or responds to you. And suddenly you realize; you’re on your way to having a spoiled child. Here are some helpful tips on how not to raise a spoiled child so that you can enjoy the experience of parenting and having a child that will be a benefit to society.

1. Discipline. It doesn’t take long for a young child to get into some kind of trouble. It is a time of learning, as they are just beginning in their lives and this usually leads to a child getting into situations that can generate problems of some kind. This is the perfect time for a parent to teach the child not to do that again. This process is called discipline. Discipline seems to have a negative environment associated with it, but discipline is a key teaching tool that parents are not using to its full potential. It is a teaching tool to help guide a child regardless of age to learn and obey the rules that are imposed on him. Part of learning is understanding that your actions have consequences. We, as parents, must allow our children to experience the consequences of their actions. This learning tool will help them make better decisions throughout their lives. That helps not to raise a brat.

2. Responsibility. If our goal is not to raise children who act like brats, then teaching them responsibility is an important step. Children of this generation seem to have the concept that they are here to be cared for and for their every whim. Gone are the times when Saturday mornings or after school hours were used for homework and yard work, as well as part-time jobs after school during adolescence. A child who is taught to work gains respect for the time and hard work it takes to keep things nice and in order. Clean dishes just don’t seem to have to be washed, garden grass just won’t cut, it’s a lot of work to keep trimmed and looking good. And with that knowledge they will respect their own things along with the property of strangers.

3 Time. Nothing is better fodder for creating a situation where your child can get into trouble than having extra time with no goals or challenges to work on. I don’t think a child should have an activity scheduled every hour; we don’t want to overload our children. What creates the problem is when children do the famous “hanging out” with their friends hour after hour, day after day which quickly leads to boredom. When a child gets bored, they can end up in trouble creating problems for themselves and others. Sports, activities, and housework are some of the things that can help a child have something to occupy his time.

4. Money. Today’s youth are said to spend more today than any other group in history. My question is how? Where do these kids get all of their money, allowance, and part-time jobs that are not the highest spending group of consumers? The adults in their lives are blindly handing them money and credit cards to make up for not being a part of their lives, for peace and quiet, for the guilty voices whispering that we owe them, for the need to make up for someone missing. . In their lifes; Whatever the motivation, money flows freely and is on its way to creating spoiled, self-centered children.

So Mom and Dad, as you can see, there are a few things that can be done to help our kids not be brats. But you should also see that most of these steps start with you. Discipline, responsibility, time management, and monetary values have one thing in common: you, the parent. These children trust you, it is your responsibility to help and guide your children. So the next time you see a spoiled child, remember that they didn’t become like that, they have parents who didn’t take the time to teach them that there is a better way to get noticed.
