Mobile Web Design – The New Era of Design

Since the mobile phone has ceased to be just a mobile phone and has become more or less a portable pocket computer, it has changed the way we all interact and function on a daily basis.

The term “mobile phone” refers to the entire portable package that allows you to communicate, play games, take pictures, use a satellite navigation system, send text messages, listen to music, send emails, social networks and surf the Internet. Due to its added facilities on the Internet, it has become an essential tool for the business world as well as a social networking device.

Webmasters and site owners are now realizing that the Internet is readily available through most quality mobile providers, opening up a whole new world of direct sales, promotion and marketing. But can your website be viewed on a mobile phone?

Google is now a “mobile-first” business, with programmers and developers creating mobile versions of apps and software before creating desktop versions.

When websites were designed, they were designed for PCs. Then they had to be adapted to the laptop and then to the panoramic. Now it is imperative that they are designed for the mobile phone.

As a web designer, I’ve found that unless your website scales to a mobile phone screen size at an early stage, site owners could lose a lot of leads and conversions in the mobile world. The PC screen is so different from the mobile phone that it can lead to frustrating scrolling, poor navigation, excessive content, unreadable text or graphics, and slow loading times, which also leads to high mobile phone bills.

So by keeping this in mind at the design stage and allowing time to create a site that’s specifically tailored for the mobile screen, mobile web design can be a very wise investment. It’s also worth checking out their current website. If you don’t change the design, you can always consider introducing the “mobile” website.
