I installed one of the BullyDog Performance Management Tool (PMT) systems on my 2005 Ford F-550 with the 6.0L engine. My main goal was to expect a significant increase in fuel, as did my father and brother with the 7.3s.
Since things have gotten a bit tough lately with the economy, I have been actively looking for ways to save as much money as possible, an honest search that has led to a very pleasant discovery.
My first experience with the BullyDog PMT was that I only got an average raise of .5 to .8 percent, and I was honestly thinking of selling the unit. Now that I have been using it for about 2 months, I am proud to say that I would not even dare to think of parting with it.
I highly recommend the BullyDog PMT to anyone. Now I have more than enough energy when trying to climb hills, which is every day where I live. The overall increase in power is definitely worth its weight in gold, especially if you find yourself in a position where you have to do a lot of towing.
I like to camp for the weekend in a 38ft 5th wheel, and it pulls with no problem. The PMT unit still allows me to use Ford’s tow/haul mode, and I use performance and extreme mode mainly because this is where I found the best fuel economy.
My Ford truck weighs about 10,800 pounds, empty, but now I can easily rev my dad’s F-250 gas work (and he has an F-350 diesel, too). I advise anyone to spend a little extra money and get the PMT because of the ease of use, the screen size with great readability and the very easy installation process.
The installation instructions for the PMT were also very good from the BullyDog factory manual, and BullyDog customer service actually seemed to enjoy us calling them for information. It was a pleasure talking to someone who really wanted to talk to me, which a lot of companies don’t make you feel that way.
I would suggest shopping online if you are looking for the best deal. I don’t know if it’s just the ‘old school’ in me, but I’d make sure you go with a trusted recommendation from someone who has shopped online.
There are many ‘scams’ and false advertising companies online that, after doing an extensive research process, I found out that they don’t even have a warehouse. They just do drop shipping which means they have no control over my purchase. I didn’t like that, but the only company I found that had great customer service was TruckAddOns, and that’s where I bought my BullyDog PMT.
