One day I noticed that we had a growing inventory of tools, both for the lawn and the garden. I realized it was time to start looking for free storage shed plans online. Little did I know what a nightmare it was going to be, all I needed was free storage shed blueprints.
I was literally searching hour after hour chasing what I thought was what I was looking for. Only to end my search being another dead end. However, I finally found a site that was just what I was looking for… I’ll tell you the secret in a moment… shhhh!

Anyway, as I was saying, we had exceeded our current allotment for additional space in both the house, basement, and garage, and it was time to seriously consider building outdoor storage. We had garden tools, potting soil, electric lawn mowers, both ride on and push, assorted gas cans, various tools, patio furniture, pool equipment, bikes, a rainbow of assorted old paint, Christmas decorations and more. miscellaneous items. Yes, as you can see, it was definitely time for an additional place to store things. Now all I need is a nice set of free storage shed plans.
Finally – Free Storage Shed Detailed Plans
I guessed from the detailed plan and bill of materials available on the site that I had found, and from the plans for the free storage shed. I shouldn’t have a problem building my own building. They even had free storage shed plans for the building the exact size I thought I needed to hold all of our “extra stuff”.
I heard from someone, I can’t remember who at the moment, but he said “if you can hold a hammer, you can build your own extra storage building with the right set of blueprints.” Hmmm… last I knew I could hold a hammer, I thought to myself…
Uh-Oh – What size do I need?
I also thought I’d better be careful when selecting the exact type and size of building I wanted, I certainly didn’t want to build another two months after finishing the first one. I actually ended up stacking all the stuff we would be storing in the shed in the middle of the garage floor, stacking it a reasonable height, and then measuring the stack.
My stack actually ended up being 15′ x 15′, your stack may end up being a different size, but this will give you a pretty good idea of what size building you may need. It’s certainly much more accurate than just looking at all the scattered things and just guessing. So now I knew the exact size of the structure I needed to build, knew where to get my free storage shed plans, and was almost ready to go.
Free Storage Shed Plans On Hand – It’s Better Than Two In The Bush
I had my plans, I had my materials, I had my tools ready to go, then my chatty neighbor walked out the back door. Anyway, I was talking to him and he told me how the addition of properly constructed and designed outdoor storage would end up increasing my property value. Wow, this is not something I realized beforehand. Just a little added bonus of building my own shed with my free storage shed plans. The increase in value of my property will far exceed the cost of the materials…sweet…
My complete project and looking for more
OK, here we are a week later and my building is completely finished, it only took me about three full days really. It was actually easier than I thought it would be. I do have the place where I found my free storage shed plans to thank though.
It really was a piece of cake with these detailed plans. I would do it again? Absolutely, but I hope it doesn’t come back on my property, I think I did a pretty good job, although I’m really looking forward to building another one. I’m trying to convince my other neighbor to let me help him with his. He already has his free storage shed plans…wish me luck…
