Chocolate fountains: what else are they good for?

So you love your chocolate fountain and now you’re wondering what other delicious treats could be created in it. Since using the fountain with melted chocolate was such a crowd-pleaser, why not broaden your horizons a bit? Here are some ideas for you to try with your friends and family.

First of all, have you tried all the different types of chocolate yet? White chocolate is delicious and can be tinted with food coloring to match the theme of all kinds of parties such as bridal showers, Valentine’s Day parties, etc. Some people have also enjoyed flavoring their chocolate with liqueurs such as Kaluha or Grand Marnier if the guests will be adults.

For a uniquely sweet treat, try using melted caramel in your pan. Cut some fruit and cake to dip in the caramel. Here’s a caramel fondue recipe that works with most sources. Mix together 1 can of sweetened condensed milk, 1 stick of butter, and 1 pound of caramel squares. Melt these ingredients together first then add them to your platter and enjoy!

How about using the platter for nacho cheese? This would be a great idea for that Superbowl party or for any event that involves children. My own kids love those nacho chips with the orange cheese you get at soccer games. They would be in heaven if they saw their favorite cheese flowing down a fountain! For dippers, you can have tortilla chips, pretzels, breadsticks, or even mini tacos or quesadillas.

You can also provide a source of ranch dressing to use with fresh raw vegetables and breadsticks. This would be a fun addition at a bachelorette party or any other event with a buffet table. For this idea, you won’t want to use the heater, so make sure your source has the option to run the engine without using the heater.

Most fountains can also double as drinking fountains. You can use it for champagne, sangria, fruit punch, or even as a decorative water feature. Decorations can be used on top of the fountain and on different levels to create a unique and attractive display.

Be sure to test all of these ideas before you jump in to make sure they work with your particular font. Who knows, you might be inspired to come up with some of your own ideas too!
