Eczema is a term that refers to a specific range of inflammatory skin conditions that occur anywhere on the body. Redness, itching, swelling, and dryness are common symptoms of the uncomfortable problem, which exists on a spectrum from mildly bothersome to very severe.
Although adult cases may be less common, eczema rashes are one of the most common skin complaints in infants and young children. Shortly after her birth, my daughter Bella developed red spots on her face and arms.
